Okay so last night Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was on TV. And it got me thinking I wonder which one everyone likes better. I did see Charlie and the Chocolate factory in the theater with my daughter, her friend and her friends mother. It was good but her mother's friend and I like the original better then the one with Johnny Depp. So I pose the question to all as too which one you like better and tell us why.

I like Willy better because I just love the actor that play Willy. HE does a tremendous job. I do like both the movies for different reasons but I would much prefer to watch the original one.

I totally agree with you Monica, I love the old one so much better. I donno why but the new one kinda of freaks me out. I have watched it a couple of times and each time I just get this weird feeling watching it. But the original one, I also love the guy who plays Willy Wonka, he was so perfect for the role. My favorite part of the movie is the ending with him and you are so unsure if he really is so mean.

I know, that ending does make you wonder. I also feel that the first one gives more messages to the parents and kids with the songs. Like the one that watches TV all the time and he wants to be on TV. I know when I first watched it I never really understood the meanings of the songs. Johnny Depp scares me in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it seemed like in that movie that it was more centered around Johnny Depp and the problems he had growing up then the first movie.

I like both the movies for different reasons. I like the Charlie one because of the energetic songs, the weirdness of Johnny Depp and the gloomy atmosphere.

I like the Willy Wonka one because it goes on a much slower pace. There's so many good parts to this movie. Now that I think about it I think I like the Willy Wonka one better than the Charlie one.

It is hard to really choose one. I know I like the Willy Wonka better because I have seen that one more and to me it is the original one. I have never read the book so I can't even say which one is closer to the book. I do have to look for the book and read it just so that I can compare them all.

I liked them both but i pick Willy first only cause it was what i watched when i was younger and i like the story like NOW I thought that Charlie was part 2 to Willy that why i watched it my daughetr likes Charlie but ill pass and thats sad cause i love Jonny Depp but i did think it was funny.

Personally I like the one with Johnny. I didn't really like the first one becasue I didn't like the guy who played Willy. He creeped me out. And when he yelled at the kid, and was all like 'oh but you passed the test' and was all nice like, annoyed me. That and I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan, so sue me! =D
