There's unrest in the 'verse. The rule of the Alliance, as much as they'd like to think otherwise, is not absolute. The Independents may have lost the war, but that doesn't mean they're ready to lie down just yet. There are heists, gunfights, killings, any kind of crime you can imagine, directed at the Alliance and happening every day. And it's not just that: the infamous fugitives, Simon and River Tam, are still at large, although only a select few officials even know what they're fugitives for. There are mysterious deaths, victims bleeding from every orifice, their faces twisted into expressions of unimaginable horror. The Reavers are pushing out further every year, making it more and more difficult for the Alliance to pretend they don't exist. Times are hard, and getting harder.
There's unrest on board Serenity, too. With the attack on their home by the bounty hunter Early behind them, the crew have to face the revelation that River Tam is a reader -- a psychic -- and presents a certain danger to them all. They always knew she wasn't quite right, but Mal let the Tams stay. Now he's seriously rethinking that sentimental notion.
Welcome to Firefly: Revelations, a role play set in Joss Whedon's much-beloved Firefly 'verse.
